Venture Crew 101 Meeting Minutes – July 27, 2010

Meeting called to order at 8:20 pm.

Attendance:

Danny C, Derrick, Jeff, Araujo, Nick R
Mike, Jenn

Old Business:

• Araujo will be head of the Backpacking Trip committee.
  
  • Committee Araujo will take his info back and find a trail/itinerary that we should do.
• Kayaking in the Ocean (Derrick will be the head of this committee)
  • Yakitty Yak kayak rentals – 1 person kayak $45, 2 person $55, 3 person $65
  • Resolved we are going to kayak instead of sail.
  • Kayaking in the bay.
  • Resolved to make this a weekend trip – Derrick will look for location to stay in (campground).
• Shooting trip has been voted down due to expense and lack of interest.
• Climbing Trip (Danny C will look into it)
  • Gravity Vault or other possible locations – Day Trip.
• Brian and Steve still looking up their info.

New Business:

• Derrick will look up info on dirt biking. Possibly for the spring/fall
• Nick will look up mountain biking.

Tentative Calendar for 2010-2011:

• September – Hershey Park (day trip for recruiting top priority)
• October – Lake Trip (weekend trip)
• November – Gravity Vault (day trip)
• December – Ice Fishing
• January – Ski Trip (MLK holiday weekend)
• March – Dirt Biking Trip (day trip)
• April – Backpacking Trip (weekend trip)
• May – Mountain Biking Trip (weekend trip)
• June – Ocean Kayaking Trip (weekend trip)

Meeting called to order at 6:13 pm.

Attendance:

Old Business:

Amusement Park Committee:

• Hershey Park and Dorney Park
• Group minimum is 20 people.
• Hershey
  • $33 /person (if ordered 2 weeks in advance)
  • $38.50 /person (bought on the day)
  • $10 /car parking
• Dorney
  • $31.50 each group member
  • $10 /car parking
• Group would rather go to Hershey.
• Will be one day recruitment trip.
• Jeff is in charge of the Amusement Park Committee
• Hershey Park trip on September 6, 2010
• Make-up date September 12, 2010

New York Football Challenge Turned down be the group.

New Business:

• Steve will look up skiing and lake trips.
• Brian will look into ice fishing.
• Jeff will look up shooting range trip.
• Derrick will look up small boat sailing / canoeing.
• Michael will look up backpacking trip.
• Danny V. is looking up rock climbing trip.
